WHERE DO WE PROVIDE PROGRAMMES?
CoachBright offers programmes across London, South East, and the West Midlands. We offer both in-person and online programmes, according to the location and needs of the school.
WHAT SUBJECTS AND STAGES DO WE SUPPORT?
We work with UK mainstream schools in both Primary and Secondary years. Our Primary programmes offer coaching in Literacy and Numeracy in years 3,4,5 and 6. Our Secondary programmes offer coaching in core subject areas: English, Maths, and Science.
Our Sixth-Form programmes offer the following:
Maths
Further Maths
English Literature
English Language
Biology
Chemistry
Physics
Economics
History
Sociology
Psychology
Business Studies
If there is an alternative subject you’d like to facilitate, we’re open to consider this on an individual basis.
WHEN DO THE PROGRAMMES RUN?
The sessions run during the school terms, in Spring and Autumn. We work with schools to ensure the sessions fit into their timetable, either during school hours or after school.
We run condensed Summer School programmes and aim to help Year 6’s transition into Secondary school.
Similarly, we run a Year 7 Transition Peer to Peer programme. We pair new secondary school pupils with CoachBright trained Year 10 coaches from early September to mid-December, providing holistic support for their academic, social, and emotional adjustment. This initiative fosters a smooth transition and a strong sense of belonging within the school community.
HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?
Primary sessions last for 60 minutes, and Secondary sessions are either 60 or 75 minutes.
Peer to Peer sessions run for 60 minutes.
HOW MUCH DO PROGRAMMES COST FOR 24/25 ACADEMIC YEAR?
Core in-person for secondary: £365 per pupil (min. cohort: 30)
Core in-person for primary: £350 per pupil (min. cohort: 30)
Core online: £310 per pupil (min. cohort: 30)
Core online if fewer than 30 pupils: £345 per pupil (if cohort size is below 30, pupils will be pooled with those from another school in the same delivery slot)
Peer to Peer: £170 (min. cohort: 30 pupils, i.e. 15 matched pairs)
WHO ARE THE COACHES?
Our coaches are volunteers from Universities across England. They have 3 hours of training including safeguarding training, and must hold an Enhanced DBS.
HOW DO WE RECRUIT OUR COACHES?
Our coaches apply on our website, where they demonstrate that they meet our criteria. They must show that they share out motivations and are empathetic, consciensious and passionate about social equality. They must also meet eligibility of having worked to a high level in their subject (either degree, A/B at A- level or A*/A at GCSE).
After a careful selection process we invite successful volunteers to be trained in-person or online by our CoachBright team, after this they are placed on programmes depending on their school preferences.
HOW EXACTLY DO WE TRAIN OUR COACHES?
Each coach attends 3 hours worth of training where they learn key coaching skills alongside how to deliver impactful sessions. We then provide additional training tailored to the specific school where the coach will be working, offering context and support with their coaching.
We deliver crucial safeguarding information and clear guidance on what to do in safeguarding situations. To see more on safeguarding at CoachBright, please see our page here.
HOW DO WE MEASURE IMPACT?
Impact is measured by qualitative and quantitive data collated over the duration of each programme. We take time at the end of each programme to put together an impact report that will be shared direct with the school. To see more information on our impact reports, please see our page here!
HOW DO WE MEASURE PUPILS' PROGRESS?
We collect attainment data before and after the programme to assess the progress that has been made. On a core programme, we collect pupil and coach feedback at the end of each session and use this to check progress and ensure the programme is running effectively. Programme Managers are also present at sessions to monitor progress.
After each session, the Programme Manager shares all information with the school and provides an impact report at the end of the programme.
HOW WILL WE COMMUNICATE WITH YOU?
Each school has an allocated CoachBright Programme Manager who will support in setting the programme up and quality assuring sessions. This will be the school’s point of contact for any questions or support during the programme.
Every week the Programme Manager will provide feedback from each session and keep the school updated.
