Safeguarding Children and Young People

At CoachBright, we believe that children and young people should never experience abuse of any kind. All staff, volunteers and partners of CoachBright have a duty of care to uphold and promote the safeguarding and welfare of the children and young people that we work with.

Staff

We perform enhanced DBS checks and two reference checks on all full time and part time members of CoachBright staff when they join our organisation. DBS checks are repeated every two years.

All staff members complete their NSPCC safeguarding training course before they begin working with pupils.

Volunteers

Our Coaches and Coach Leads receive training in safeguarding and child protection as part of their initial training. This happens before they are allocated a place on one of our programmes, and they must consent to promoting and upholding our safeguarding policies and procedures.

This training covers safeguarding knowledge and awareness, types of abuse and how to identify them, safeguarding online, how to respond to a disclosure and how to raise a concern/report an incident.

All of our coaches undergo an enhanced DBS check (paid for by CoachBright) before being placed on our programmes.
