Annual Report for last academic year 2020/21.
In a year of adapting to Covid-19, read on to hear how we supported more pupils than ever and of course the impact we made for our pupils:
Attainment impact: CoachBright pupils improved their subject grade by 0.5 of a grade, this was nearly a third more progress than their non coached peer
“Positive changes were observed across all social and emotional skills for CoachBright pupils”. The resilience score was deemed statistically significant (independent evaluator ImpactEd)
“We feel like we are working with rather than just paying for a service and that’s really important to us. As we are developing things within our Trust, we are able to do that alongside CoachBright and make sure that we’re working towards the same end.”. Dan Seviour, Deputy Head at West Monkton
Supported 2322 pupils over the year.
Worked across South West, West Midlands, South East and London.
“Increase in metacognition is statistically significant” -
ImpactEd in their independent evaluation of our online pilot during summer lockdown (May-August 2020).
The evaluation found the increase of 17% in metacognition was statistically significant and meant CoachBright pupils scored significantly higher on metacognition than the national average at the time.
Considering the Education Endowment Foundation’s research that ‘metacognitive strategies’ can be worth the equivalent of 7+ months progress when used well we were thrilled with our findings. Full report here.
School Testimonials
“CoachBright has been a key strategic strand of our work supporting disadvantaged students across the Ted Wragg trust.
Their coaching programmes has boosted our disadvantaged pupil’s academic outcomes and confidence!
Would highly recommend to other schools and trusts. ”
“CoachBright has helped ARK Globe Academy’s sixth formers to recognise their ability to achieve their best.
One-to-one coaching provides our students with the opportunity to become inspired and motivated by some of London’s best graduate and university students.
It has allowed our pupils to take greater responsibility for their learning by creating a culture of self-confidence and self-direction. We’ve seen our first intake of Sixth Formers getting off to a strong start with CoachBright, with many cases jumping up an entire grade boundary.
I’m confident that our pupils will now be better poised to attain the best grades possible and make the transition to top universities.”
“Cranbrook Education Campus were privileged to work with CoachBright on the Girls into STEM project this year.
The CoachBright coaches provided targeted, personalised support to our budding Year 9 female pupils supporting them to improve their knowledge of and grades in STEM subjects.
The coaches were highly motivated and built excellent relationships with our pupils. Pupils really enjoyed the University visit and graduation service. We look forward to working with CaochBright again next year.”
