Our Secondary Programmes support pupils from years 7-13. We pair pupils with a university student coach on a 2:1 basis. Each pairing works on the selected subject area for the duration of the 15-hour  programme.

At KS3 and KS4 level, we offer coaching in English, Maths, and Science. At KS5 level, we offer coaching in the following subject areas:

  • Maths

  • Further Maths

  • English Literature

  • English Language

  • Biology

  • Chemistry

  • Physics

  • Economics

  • History

  • Sociology

  • Psychology

  • Business Studies

If there is an alternative subject you’d like us to facilitate, we’re open to consider this on an individual basis!

Our Secondary programmes take place in the Autumn, Spring, or Summer term, and last for a total of 15 hours. This comprises 7 weekly sessions, book-ended by a launch session at the start of the programme,  and a graduation ceremony at a university to celebrate the completion of the programme!

COACHED BY RELATABLE ROLE MODELS

Our university student volunteers are trained in coaching skills and well-supported to work with young pupils. They are passionate about social mobility while equally having recent experience of the academic pressures young pupils face and of the challenges posed in pre-higher education.

TAILORED ACADEMIC SUPPORT IN SCHOOL

Our academic coaches meet with their pupils  in school or online  at the same time each week. They plan either a 60 or a 90-minute session around a topic of their pupils’ choosing. Our sessions are curated around the school’s curriculum with HoD liaison to ensure efficacy.

AWARENESS OF UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENT

At the end of each programme, we invite pupils to a graduation ceremony at  a university campus.  This includes a campus tour or scavenger hunt and a Q&A with student ambassadors. Pupils are presented with certificates to celebrate their achievements throughout the programmes.

I have definitely learnt more about the subject I was coached in, more about university and more about my future.
